Icon6 2000 CIVIC SI ECU QUESTION

Hello everyone, let me apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section.

Lets get started.

I've been building hondas for years now, but now i am a bit stumped.

i have 2000 civic si which is obd2, i have swapped in a 93 b16a sirII obd1 engine. I have been running it lately on my stock em1 harness and stock p2t ecu. HOWEVER!!, I believe my harness is f***ed. its old its rotted and its trashed. i want to get the p30 ecu for the b16a becuz thats the original ecu MADE for that engine and believe will run better.

My question is, can i just use an obd1 harness and buy the p30 ecu?
OR... Do i HAVE to buy ANOTHER obd2b harness, GET A JUMPER, then use the p30 ecu?

i have been told alot of times "TO USE THE HARNESS THAT IS MADE FOR THE CAR"

My whole reason for doing this is because my engine isnt running as it should. Mind you, for daily driving it runs perfect no problems what so ever.VTEC works fine,etc,etc...
only a backfire here and there when i let off the gas.
But, when i race my friends completely stock integra gsr with 2 people in it he beats me by 2 or more cars.... (THATS NOT RIGHT)

(YES, im a good driver lol and this my 4th honda and 5th swap)

i have done a full tune up recently, i use only mobile 1 syn, my compression is good on all cyl and this engine is from HMOTORS.COM so ive narrowed it down to engine management.

Thank you for your time, I'm eager to hear your thoughts!

Have a nice day.

Leave the engine harness alone. Get a jumper harness to run the P30. Only thing is the P30 asks for a knock sensor.

I went the same way on one of my old swaps. I was ob2a(96-98 Ek) and the stock ecu didn't look for a knock sensor, so I just had to wire a knock sensor straight to the P30 Ecu.

The Si also uses a knock sensor so you be good to go. Just use an adapter harness and the p30 ecu.

Hey Thanks For the Reply,

well my stock harness is messed up so i gotta get a new one but ur saying get a new OBD2B harness and then jus do a jumper i gotcha i kinda figured id have to do that.

also my engine is obd1 so it doesnt have a knock sensor

but ur saying the p30 REQUIRES a knock sensor or it jus has a pinout for one
