ecu problems...please help...i dont know what to do
have a 99 civic hb. i have a 98 integra ls. now the company that put it in said they had to use a 99 si ecu. and just deactivate the vtech. well i got the car today and my check engine light doesnt work now. you know when you go to turn on the car the check engine light comes on for 2 seconds. well mine doesnt do that now. is this common. if not what ecu will i need to use. i am planing on putting in gages...water, exhaust and such. so what do you guys think. is this a big deal, should i go back and make them fix it. i also think they just pulled my check engine light bulb. if so is there any kind of offence i can pull them on in court. i have only had problems with this company. a 2 day job took 2 1/2 weeks. sorry for the long story but i really dont know what to do. thanks for the help

Take it back and tell them to use the right ecu. Also check to see if they cut the wire that goes to your check engine light.

sounds like they pulled the check engine light and to "deactivate" VTEC, there is no VTEC on ur motor so there was nothin to "deactivate".

i know there is no vtech on the motor but on the ecu there is. they said they deactivated it so it doesnt reconize it or something. can this be done. and what other ecu can i use so that the check engine light works.
thanks for the help and if you have anymore that would be great. thanks
