ECU and injectors
We are doing an Ls VTEC swap into an EG hatch, we need injectors and are not sure of which to use, the LS motor did not come with any, the options we have at hand are:
1. Injectors and ECU from a 93 VTEC prelude
2. Injectors and ECU from a 92 Civic DX (most likely don't flow enough)
3. We also have a PR4 ECU (I don't drive a Honda so I'm not sure where that ECU is from)
Would the injectors and ECU from the Prelude work? we'd have the ECU as well...we have all the electrical parts needed from the Prelude (it was in a wreck and it's sitting the driveway)
If we did the Prelude ECU would we have the change any harness plugs, or any more of the wiring than we would need to do with a B16 ECU?
Any help on this would be great

Re: ECU and injectors (X arkangel x)
If you use the OBD-1 Prelude injectors (approx. 330cc), they're "peak & hold" injectors and you'll need an fuel injector resistor box. If you use the Prelude injectors, you'll also need the plugs from the H22 harness to make them work. Otherwise, they will not just plug right into your OBD-1 Civic harness. If you use any B-series OBD-1 injectors (approx 240cc.... I think, either that or 270 ) and those will work just fine on your LS/VTEC setup, and they'll plug right in.
PR4 is the same ECU code for both 90-91 and 92-93 LS.... one is OBD-1, the other is non-OBD.

Re: ECU and injectors (Newman)
Hrmmm would the Prelude have a resistor box already in it, or does it run the injectors straight from the ECU, I know a lot of DSM's use an ECU that would work for Saturated injectors, but have a resistor box to run the peak and hold injectors...

Re: ECU and injectors (Newman)
hey newman also with peak and hold injetors isnt it poss to not use resistors? ive heard that they work fine with no resistors but you may have a prob with shorting the ecu due to return voltage? what are your thoughts on that?

Re: ECU and injectors (2trix)
From an Isuzu car POV:
You can use a low impedience ECU with high Imp. Injectors and you will be just fine...most of the time
BUT if you use an ECU that handles saturdated injectors high) with injectors that use Low impedience (P&H) bye bye injectors, bye bye ECU
Trust me I had an extra ECU and injector set so I gave it a try on my old Geo Storm.
