Default ECU ? for H22

I have a H22 in a 93 Del Sol. Currently running a P13 ECU that came with the swap. I have been getting a check engine light randomly with a code 12, EGR lift sensor. Here is my question. Can I switch to an OBD-I ECU out of a GSR? I figure that way I keep my knock sensor and secondary in the intake but don’t have to bother with the EGR system. Will it need to be chipped, the H22 is stock, no bolt-ons or anything.

yes you can run it to get rid of the EGR system, yes you will want to get it chipped to run a H22 engine.

Chipped to adjust fuel? What if I just ran it without chipping? I know it wouldn't be optimized but how bad would it be?

dont run it without a chip.

you're better off running your current ecu.

Definately get it chipped to give the right amount of fuel for a 2.2L, or else that will be very very bad on ur engine, especially up top running around 8000 rpms on a gsr ecu it will be running very lean. Use ur p13 for now while u get the ecu chipped.

Don't use a P72 unless it is tuned to run the H22.
The KS board on a p72 WILL NOT function properly with a H22. It will constantly find false knock around VTEC engagement and pull lots of timing.

Your best bet is to just wire up the EGR. It's not going to harm performance and has an awesome effect on reducing emissions and improving mileage.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll put a little more time into the EGR problem, maybe it's just a bad lift sensor. I think I have all of the correct valves on the vacuum side of the system, and it's wired correctly.
