Default dyno numbers (all ls/vtec ppls)

what kind of numbers are you throwing down with a pretty basic ls/vtec setup?

this is my setup and I will have it dynoed and mildly tuned

b16a head P&P milled .020
vtec oil/water pumps
all new gaskets on bottem end
cam gears
si tranny w/ 7.5 fly and stage 3 clutchmasters
jim fab rear and front lower mounts
b16 crank pulley
FPR set at 52

what kind of WHP do you think I will have?

thanks
mike

That is just a plain bad idea. LS pistons have a low compression not to mention you are running the risk of piston to valve contact.

there wont be piston to valve probs.... but compression is low is this allmotor?
If so i would go w ctr or itr pistons but make sure to use GSR oil pump and steel braided line in the back of head. I have an LsVtec w CTR'S and when it was just the block w stock GSR head, cams and header it ran 13.2 @102..but the way u r doing it is budget and that is fine things cost money i understand but if i were u atleast change the OIL PUMP.. but to get the thing moving get ITR or CTr pistons ITR lower compression then CTR..i recommend the SKUNK 2 manifold CTR CAMS OR A CAM U CAN FIND ON OUR WEBSITE @ EXOSPEED.COM... until then i don't really know what u can dyno at but if u need more help let me know..

Dynoed back in June 1998 (damn, long time ago) with a "stock" LS/VTEC motor (stock LS block, stock B16 head, LS pistons, B16 cams), YS1 GSR tranny, DC 4-2-1 header, 2.25" crushed exhaust piping w/cat & resonator, and at 10 degrees timing (-6 degrees... timing was fubared at the time), with stock PR3 ECU in my old CRX, it pulled consistent 160 whp. Not the best but then not the worst for how it was running.

Later that same day, there was a EF hatch with a LS/VTEC with CTR pistons and CTR cams, running open header.... he was putting down 189 whp.

atleast change the OIL PUMp
I put a gsr brand spanking new oil pump on there and a vtec waterpump. My head is milled .020 and my compresion will just be at 10:1 I was going to set my timing to 18 degrees and I will have the fpr at 52. I will be very happy with 160 whp as some of you know i have a kid now and not to concerned about my engine right now, but I do want next is the jim fab traction bars

I was under the impression that there could be piston to vavle contact using ls pistons due to the fact that the lobes on a vtec cam are bigger.
