The older gen distributor has a milky white plug on it. On the newer gen b16a, the plugs are gray in color on the distributors. I guess by changing up the colors, it made it easier for techs to be able to distinguish between the earlier and later b16a's. I will try to post pics on the injectors.

here's a pic of the ECU plug year differences...

the distributor plugs on any 88-91 civic/crx engine (D-series or B-series) have yellowy-white plugs.

92-95 distr. plugs a dual grey plug.
96+ distr. plugs are a single grey plug.

the injectors plugs mating rituals differ between 88-91, 92-95, and 96+

OBD 0 distibutors have a different internal triggering mechanism that have an incorrect pulse rate for OBD 1 and 2 ECU's, making them incompatable. The OBD 0 injectors are low impedance and have in line resistors, newer OBD 1/2 have high impedance injectors with the correct resistance sent directly from the ECU. Hope this helps!

On the injectors, there are no OBD0 and OBD1 injectors. There are only low impedance and high impedance. The OBD1 Pelude and Accord injectors are low impedance and are keyed to use the same plug as the Civic/CRX OBD0 injectors. The Civics and Integras from 92-95 (OBD1) have the high impedance injectors, and as you pointed out use a different plug.

The OBD0 and OBD1 injectors are totally interchangeable as long as the flow rate is the same and you use the in-line resistor on the low impedance injectors.

As for OBD2, they are all high impediance and have a different plug than the others.

If you were putting a 1st gen B16A in a 91 CRX could you use the older low impedance injectors but run a newer 92+ ecu? If so, would I need to use the resistor box or not?

I would use the early B16A ECU and injectors, but you could do it your way.

ahh yes the impotence levels. I always forget that factor when it comes to injectors for NOBD and OBD1/2/v2.2

thanks Brian

Hey, I like that NOBD (no BD) designation. I always said OBDnone, but I think I like your pun better.
