Distributor Plug Question OBD0 to OBD1??
In switching to obd1 distributor, what is the modification needed to the obd0 harness in converting overall obd0 to obd1?
Did search and could not find, thanks!

what ECu are you using to run the OBD 1 distributor. If you are using the stock OBD 0 it will not work because the OBD0 ecu cannot read the OBD1 distributor. wont be able to rev the motor past a certain point.
All you have to do is match up the colors. Pull the plugs off the pins on the obd 1 dist and put the plugs from the obd 0 dist on its pins. It's not a perfect fit, but it works..I just used my own plug on the 2 pin one though as repinning that one was going to be more difficulI'm actually running a obd2 dist on mine.

I used to make them for people that were going from obd-0 to obd-1. The problem is you need to waste an entire engine wiring harness off an OBD-1 car, so I stopped doing that.
I would just recommend making your own.

I'm going to have to disagree tom. Your method is the way that Hasport endorses, if I remember correctly. You end up with a NON-STANDARD OBD0 ecu plug. The you use a conversion harness to make it adapt to OBD1 plugs. I match up the FUNCTIONS of the distributor wires, end up with a standard OBD0 plug, and then use a 1 to 1 crossover harness.

Short answer is, it depends how your conversion harness is designed.

I cut the obd 0 plugs off the harness and soldered obd 1 plugs on. That way i could sell my obd 0 dizzy.

Phiz,, all I did is take the plug off my obd-o dist, then pluged them into the obd 1 dist wires after I matched up the colors. On the big plug, the small one I just made my own 2 pin plug.. My obd 1 conversion harness is from JK conversion harnesses.. I'll check mansons car as his is a different one from jdmshit.com. I think we had to swap two of the colors .

You are correct. If you use JK OBD0-OBD1 harness then the color for color will work fine. If you use locash or jdmshit's it must be function for function(
IMO, of course).
Short answer is, Use JK obd conversion harnesses and use the easiest and most affective method.
