wondering if anyone has destroked a b20...i heard or read somewhere a long time ago about a b motor revving to 12k + "destroked b20 with i believe b17 crank..."

wouldn't that make it a b17??? what keeps the b17 from revving this high......must be something wrong or i am momentarily retarded.

why would you want to rev to 12k?
there's no point...at all...
you'd need a head that flows that high, you'd need cams to make power that high, you'd need a header to support that too....
it's worthless. the stock 89mm stroke is great for street or strip.

B17 cranks are hard to come by and I never heard of a destroked B20 12k rpm idea.
As a side note, a B17A crank in a B16A + 86mm bore = just under 1.9L with a ~1.70 rod ratio, sleeved of course. This throws boost out of the option kinda due to the thin cyl walls.

That would be cool though, kinda like a bike. But still a LONG way to go, one of the 2004 600's has a 16,500 redline And yes, they make power up there
