D16z6 wiring - HELP... QUICK!
Hey guys, I should have a D16z6 here Sat/Sun and I was wondering a few things. Can anyone point me to some wiring help - I will have the ECU but my DX isnt wired for VTEC correct? So I will need to run some wires... but, which? Thanks - need to get this "temporary" motor running to get my car back on the road and chuggin along
which car are you putting this motor in? the 92 hatchbacks come prewired for vtec. if you have a 88-91 dx then it's a bit more complicated. if have a 92-95 it's not hard..hybrid.honda-perf.org should have the right charts.
this link brings you to their old design: http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/
but all i can find is dx for the 4G civic. i don't know if its the same, but i doubt it.

92 DX Sedan is not bad
Ferio's are nice heh.
for wiring of VTEC, I would just hard wire it from the ECU to the vtec solenoid valve and the oil pressure sensor.
VTEC Solenoid valve has 1 wire and goes to A4
VTEC Oil Pressure Sensor -> the blue/black wire goes to D6 and the other wire is body grounded.
here is the pin-out diagram so you know where the wires go looking at the ECU connectors:

IF the Z6 has a harness with it, all you have to do is plug it in. The 92 models have VTEC wires up to the passenger shock tower where the engine harness plugs in.

So its already wired for VTEC? Should I just run to the garage and pull my plugs and look? LOL - its a long walk, BAH... so all I have to do is just drop in the motor, and plug my harness into the VTEC ECU and its gonna work?

I know the hatches are wired for VTEC, but not sure on the 4 doors, I guess that'll clear it up
Alright, I will have the engine harness... and if my sedan is wired for vtec & the shock tower - all I will have to do is plug it in, and swap out the ECU and its all done? The ECU is for an auto... my car is manual.
If I understand correctly the auto ECU's are configured a little differantly as far as how they run. Should I pickup one of those "racing chips" to better map the ECU to run with my car?
