i know you can interchange d series like d16a6,d16z6 etc. now can i use a d17a2 in my civic si with my d16a6 tranny or do i have to do a d17 block with z6/y8 head swap with d16a6. info i great

 

d17 has nothing in common with a d16 exeptr that is has a d in the title lol, completley diffrent mounts etc, and it doesnt make any power, the civic ex only has vtec-e

not a very chosen platform

 

so forget of doing a d17 vtec swap. i cant even use the block

 

if you use the whole swap and make mounts for it you can make it work...otherwise they are not interchangable

cable trans etc, its not a very perfomance oriented engine lol
