Crowered H22 Head. Am I ready for boost?
Okay I'm taking a bone stock JDM H22. I've purchased new Crower stage 2 turbo cams, std comp valves, valve springs, and TI retainers. I've also invested in a Power timing belt and Skunk2 cams. Now am I ready to boost. Do I need to run a VAFC with the new valvetrain and cams. Now since my engine is OBD1 its partially closed deck...trust me, IT IS. So I'm told I can run 12 lbs safely by the fellas at inlinefour. What turbo should I run, and what times should I expect. I would anticipate about 370 hp or so, and a 1/4 mile time of at least 13.25. Keep in mind I have a Quaife LSD, ACT clutch, XACT flywheel, and Gator axles. Your thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob.

I'd say you were more than ready for boost especially with two sets of cams.
I would highly recommend against you running 12lbs of boost, especially with only a vafc. I'd go no higher than 6lbs without proper engine management.

Hmmm, I dont get it. Why would you start with the head if your boosting your h22. The weak link is your bottom end. 12psi is too much if you plan on keeping your motor reliable.

You should have spent that money on a block build first, pistons,rods,sleeves,ect...
