cr-vtec. no power
Me and my friends finished assembling his crvtec and put it in his crx. He's using a stock JDM b20b block and a first gen b16 head. pw0 ecu, s1 tranny. stock clutch. after we got it together we test drove it, and it seems to run good but is definitley lacking in the power area, so we took off the valve cover, checked the cams to make sure everything was lined up and the timing was good. second we checked the ignition timing with our timing light, and noticed that it was running at idle (~1000rpm) on the red mark. which i think is approx 15 advance. so we disconnected the map sensor on a hunch, and it threw a check engine light, but the timing also settled down to the white mark. so thinking that we had a faulty map sensor, we took the map sensor off a 88 crx si, that has a b16a swap in it, and used that one. still no dice, no power. it felt like a 140hp car. so at that point, we pretty much gave up and drove it home. on the way home we noticed that it used about half a tank of gas on a pretty short drive. (~20 minute drive) which is pretty unsual considering we are working on "economy cars". if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: cr-vtec. no power (NOCARLOSER)
The block is a JDM B20B which is the equivalent of an USDM b20Z. Everything is timed correctly as far as the cams and crank. The ignition timing is way advanced at idle. But like he said when the MAP senesors' vacuum line was removed the timing corrected itself and fired at TDC at idle and advanced as need when the engine was revved. On the drive home we noticed that the car was drinking gas like it was going out of style. It used over 7.5 gallons of gas to 26 miles. Im thinking that the ECU might be messed up but I could be wrong and usually am. So if you guys could pleaase lend a bit of knowledge to help with this problem thanks.

You need to tune that SOB on a dyno. Your air/fuel maps are prolly WAAYY off because of the hybrid engine. Once you get your air/fuel maps straight, it will feel MUCH stronger.
