8-9k revving should be fine for the CRVTEC. Still keeps a similar bore/stroke ratio as an ITR. But doing it is probably not a good idea unless you plan to build it for drag and just worry about how much power you can squeeze out of the engine.

stock rods. People told me that it wasn't a good idea, but man, you can't resist pushing the motor up there. I did it a couple times and the engine still sounded good. So I pushed it as much as I wanted till about a month ago. Just finishing the rebuild now. And I did not rebuild it for damaged reasons. Just wanted more power.

What kind of shape was the motor internals in? Cylinder walls? Crank?

try doing some searching. This has been covered. For hp figures go to http://www.importreview.com Although they don't tell exactly what the compression is on some of the set-ups.

hell yeah thats what i wanted to hear!! My friend tells me that the stock rods should be ok, and a local shop also said that the stock rods can take a beating. I am in the middle of putting my crvtec together, it should be rolling by this weekend....or maybe next one. I went ahead and got some 10.5 je pistons .40 over, because later on down the line i will get a 100 shot of nos!! i have a gsr head which will go on aswell. What did you do to your block?? I was going to get some eagle rods, but my friend said that i better upgrade my valvetrain with titanium ****. He said that when i squeeze it will be too much heat and will cause my valvetrain to fail. So im saving for that ****, and eventually i will break my **** down again and through some rods in their, like you. later

i would say, a fully built, all options CRV VTEC resides in the 220-240 wheel horsepower range depending on compression.

This one is about 12.7:1.

It beats some motorcycles on the street. Its fast.
