Default Cheapest way to build a Bseries engine???

I am tired of my D16Z6 and I NEED a B engine. What is the cheapest route to take??? i was thinking about either a B20 or LS block, wichever is cheaper, a B16A1 (Can it be used?) head cause its the cheapest and any cheap tranny. Ill use my P28 ecu chipped with some program and everything else Ill see on the way.

How much would this cost? This would be my first B so I dont have to have 200whp some 150 will suffice. Dont tell me to get a B16A2 cause I dont even have 1800$ plus shipping and I need something cheap that I can make up from parts off of ebay and the classifieds

I would suggest going with a B18A/B (integra LS). You can use both the block and the head, if you are looking to keep cost down. You also have the option of eventually switching to a B16/18 head and having a nice ls/vtec. Your best bet would be to find a wrecked teg in the junkyard and take all the parts you would need. Then you'd have a full B series swap, and room to improve later when the bug comes back. You should be able to do all that for well under the cost of a b16 swap.

You can find an older b18a swap for $500 if you look around

The cheaper you try to get, the more money you'll end up paying in the end. If your gonna do it, do it right the first time and don't try to do it "cheap"

Anyone that has built, or know someone that has built a "cheap" LS or CRVTEC is sure to tell you to do it right the first time or don't do it at all. You mentioned that you don't have $1800 to spend on a B16A2 swap - well that wouldn't get you even close to a well built LS or CRVTEC longblock, let alone a B series tranny and all the other parts you'll need for the swap. Save your money and do it right the first time so you can enjoy rather than continually wrench!

I wanna go a similar route... I've been leaning towards b20/vtec and got the money. I've been reading a lot of threads. Anyone know where I can go to get all the info I need to build one properly and one that can withstand boost.
