I am getting a cel code 9 on my JDM B18C in my 98 Civic hatch. The code is for a "Cylinder Position sensor Open or short in CYP sensor circuit, defective CYP sensor" which is a 8 plug sensore not on the CX harness I am using or even on the engine itself.

 

i think there are 2 wires you need to switch, let me double check and i will get back to you............

is this your 1st startup and you're getting this code or have you been driving it for a while and you just now got this code?

 

first startup, anyone got any ideas?

 

well, since this swap involves easy wiring, i'd say your distributor is bad. you need another one. the cyp sensor is not available by itself. i had the same thing happen.
