Default Cel code 9 WTF??

I am getting a cel code 9 on my JDM B18C in my 98 Civic hatch. The code is for a "Cylinder Position sensor Open or short in CYP sensor circuit, defective CYP sensor" which is a 8 plug sensore not on the CX harness I am using or even on the engine itself.

you sure its a code 9? or a code 90? were they long or short flashes? its most likely a code 90 cuz i remember getting the same code and thinking it was a code 9. anyway, its a vapor leak in your gas tank...just tighten your gas cap and reset your ecu.

I'll try to do that but I'm pretty sure it was 9 short flashes.

Code 9 = CYP sensor or circuit = Cylinder Position sensor

The CYP sensor is located inside the distibutor, and instructions for trouble shooting same are located on pages 11-78, 79 of my 96 teg service manual.

Crap, just re-read your original/first post ... looks like you might need the proper wiring/harness.
