Default CEL 70? it doesn't exist!

i just finished a 96 b18b swap into a 96 lx. i got three codes:

41-o2 heater
65-o2 heater

the third is strange. it's seven long flashes and that's it. is this supposed to be a 7(throttle position sensor) or a 70?

i've watched it go through the cycle several times so i know i'm seeing it correctly. who can tell me if it's a 7 or a 70?

it flashes codes in order, so if it's the first one, its 7. if it's last its 70. I don't see how you can confuse a long flash with a short one though.

it does go in order, it comes after the 65 in the sequence. what i don't get is the fact that no cel code 70 exists.

that is really odd. have you reset the ecu to see if it comes up again?

yes. i should have mentioned that. when i reset the ecu, it's the ONLY code that comes up. after about fifteen seconds of the car running the o2 cel's will come up, but at all times the cel 70 is showing.

Code 70 is for automatics. It's a malufunction with the automatic transmission controls meaning your ECU is for an AUTO. The ECU will function normally , but will only go away if you have an AUTO. The problem with this is that you will not be able to pass smog!! However, I believe there is a thread about removing a chip or reprogramming it to convert it to manual. I'm too lazy to search for it right now so good luck!!

i had an auto ecu that came with the motor and i didn't think i could run a manual tranny with it. damn. waste of 160 bucks.
