Default Car running really rich

Im just getting my EG with an obd1 jdm b18c running and I have a problem. It is running very rich, it is puffing black smoke its so rich. I noticed that there is vaccum line that isnt connected that might be causing the problem. The line is right above the butterfly or above where the intake tube enters the t/b. I am not sure where the other end is supposed to be. The fuel pressure is at 40 psi, which is a little high becuse of the holley pump but it was fine with my old D series. Still have the stock regulator for now till its running right then, im putting in the aeromotive regulator. I am running the ecu that came with the motor right now but im going to test another one right now. Would the knock sensor not being hooked up cause the problem? Or the evap solinoid not wired up be it?

I would hook up everything and the 40 psi should not be the problem. make sure no check engine lights and also all tune up parts are fine.

make sure the IAB wires are correct and also that you have no vaccum leaks. I do believe however if using the jdm gsr ecu that the IAB's are wired differently

having the KS not wired up may cause your car to run a little rich.

Are you getting any check engine lights? and if so, what codes are the ecu throwing?

does the engine run somewhat sputtery too?

ya it does run sputtery like the valves arent adjusted right (Gonna check that tomorrow). The throttle response is really slow too. Although I just started it back up after pulling the canister out from under the I/M and its not as rich, ie no more black smoke. Go figure? And still no vaccum at the secondaries.

hmm...sounds to me like either an ignition problem or your cam timing is off or the MAP sensor isn't plugged in correctly or something. So yeah, check yer cam timing, TDC, n' all that. Also, you didnt answer if you were getting any cel lights...

Its not the valves (triple checked them). I also tried another ecu and its the same. I also found out why it stopped smoking so bad, it was because the engine warmed up and the ECU can off cold start but its was still really rich. Im gonna try going over the wiring again at the ecu.
