Default Car not starting...

Here's the setup, '88 CRX Si with JDM b16 and appropriate computer. I have had both the battery and starter checked out and are good. i try to start the car and no clicking from the starter. the accessories will come on while in the 2 position. I have already replaced the ground and I am about to replace the positive wire between the batter, starter, and accessory box. I have checked all of the under hood fuses and all are good. The relays under there look fine as well.

Any ideas anyone? I can push start the car and it will run fine and for an extended period of time so I know its not alternator related, as far as I can tell.

Is it the switch in the ingnition? Maybe that went out....how big is your key chain if you ahve alot of stuff on it and it hangs on the ignition switch for too long it will eventually damage it....that might be related

The reason behind my opinion is you can push start but that only requires the key to be in the on position not start. Turn the key and there is no noise and everything else is good. my .02

That is the one other thing I was thinking of. I've only personally had the car for half a year, so prior to that I have no idea. I don't have a large keychain, but who knows before me. How would I check out the ignition switch? There is that small lead wire that goes to the starter. I'm thinking that sends the signal to tell it to turn over. I want to take a voltage tester and see what I get there, if anything.

Yeah, that is another thing, check the starter connection for the positive juice, also check to make sure it has a good connection, that can cause the starter not to turn the motor over also.

You can take the ignitor out, and autozone will test these for free. I would use all of there free assistance before I start to buy parts. just my .02 cents.

Have you checked to make sure the ground from the chassis to the valve cover is connected? I had the exact same problems with my car last week after I changed the timing belt. I replaced the starter and the car still wouldn't start. I realized this ground wasn't connected and when I reconnected it the car started right up. My old starter turned out to still be good. Might not be the same situation but just an idea. Good luck.

So here is the latest update and the verdict. The starter was bad even though I had it tested out. When they use those testers at your local auto parts store, it has no resistance to the starter from the flywheel and therefor spins freely. But when I reinstalled it the flywheel was enough resistance for it, even though the tester said enough voltage flowed though it, it just lacked ballz. So now I have a newer starter and all is peachy!

run a jumper wire from the battery hot wire to the starter terminal to see if it cranks then.
