Default Car doesn't go past 5 grand.

So like the title says.....
I have a 99 b18 type r JDM motor and tranny in my 99 ls. I just put a USDM P72 ECU in it (GSR I Believe) and I can't get the motor to rev past 5 grand. I am also noticing a check engine light for a crank shaft fluctuation sensor. Could not having that sensor cause my problem? Or do I need a different ECU? Any help would be great.

That sounds like the real 'limp mode'. Fix the cel and you should be fine. You can either add the sensor, or get a chipped p28.

Do you know if a chipped P28 would be compatible with the NYS inspection system. That is the problem I am ruinning into getting the car to pass inspection.

If it's chipped it should work good and pass also

Ok so I tried a USDM p73 and it now stops at 6 grand. It is throwing the code 54 (flux sensor). Now when I had the JDM ECU in it wasn't looking for that sensor nor was it throwing that code. I went to install a new sensor but the USDM one doesn't seem to match up to the block. I don't know if it's because it's a JDM motor and the USDM doesn't fit or what. Any other suggestions???
