Default best head for ls block

I have a 00 integra ls engine swap into my 97 civic dx. The tranny is 99 GSR. What would be the best head swap for the engine? I'm more concerned with performance than the economics.

If you're talking about doing LS/VTEC, well then the best "stock" head would be the ITR head. But for price and function balanced out, and ease of finding one, the GSR is good. Will give a little higher compression than the B16 and has more aggressive cams.

There's a million topics on LS-TEC you can read up on.

Not really. Stock, they are within 5% of each other in terms of flow and the GSR head has a better combustion chamber design.

As far as 'reving higher' that's just bs. The bigger GSR cams will breath better at high rpms than b16 cams. Both will go as high as a stock LS bottom end can run safely.

dont forget, the gsr head resists detonation better then the b16's due to the quench zones

No doubt he had that in mind when he said "better combustion chamber design"...

Nobody's hatin', nothin but love!

I just got a GSR head for my B20 VTEC, it definitely was my first choice for all those reasons. Only bummer is slimmer choices for intake manifold.

Sure, if you could find one. The rarest of B-series VTEC heads and likely the most expensive if you can find one. Does have the best cams though for stock.
