Yeah, I'm just wondering what's the cheapest and the easiest engine to swap into my 1997 Honda Civic HX coupe with a D16Y5 Manual Transmission? Right now the car has about 150K miles and I'm planning on swapping out the engine before it hits 200K or the next time i need a new timing belt. Just recently bought the car from a customer for $200, yeah $200. I'm thinking about the EK Civic Type-R B16B or USDM Civic Si(JDM SiR) B16A.

you said cheapest and easiest and then you mention the CTR motor? that is definitely not a budget friendly option.

I've been saying this a lot lately, but I would recommend the B18B. Its cheap and it seems to love boost in stock form. Any B series will go in with very little effort. If you don't want boost but you still want the engine to make decent power, go with B16A or B18C. those aren't what I consider cheap though, and for a little more you could have a turbo LS setup which will spank all over most NA B series setups.

If you really want the cheapest engine than just stick another D series in...
