BAR Certification: Will a B18C1 (94-up GSR) or B17 (92-93 GSR) Intake Manifold fit onto an ITR Head
Tech heads, I have a quick Question. Ok, so I take my car to the Smog Ref to see what I need to do to get it BAR Certified. Here's what they came up with as far as options.
1. Since it's a JDM ITR Motor, which is OB2, in order to get it BAR Certified as an ITR I would need to Convert my whole car to OBD2. Which is alot of work, I know.
2. I could use a GSR Intake Manifold from either a B18C1 (94-up GSR) or B17 (92-93 GSR), along with the Intake, Engine Harness, and ECU (P72 or P61) to make it BAR Certified as a OB1 1.8 GSR.
Option Number 2 is the best because my bro has a 94 GSR and I could "borrow" his stuff.
The Question is, will the GSR Intake Manifold fit onto the ITR Head? I know the GSR Head is the bastard of the B series. It takes some work to fit a GSR Head onto any other B series Block. But I do know that any B series header will work on it no problem. But of course, anytime you want an aftermarket IM, you have to specify if it's a B16/18 or GSR, so I'm confused.
If that doesn't work, will the B17 GSR IM fit onto the ITR Head? I'm tending to think so because Honda didn't Utilize the Dual Stage IM until the 94-01's. Here's another question, is there any difference between the B17's IM compared to the B16's from the Si's?
Thanx in Advance, Peace

GSR and ITR IM bolt patterns are different, you can't interchange them. I believe the B17 head was also a PR3(B16, CTR, ITR), so it should fit the ITR head.
