Bad input shaft bearing or throwout bearing ?
A quick one for all of you in the know, I have ready many conflicting sources of information on this one but need a definitive answer. While my car is running and is in neutral with my foot OFF the clutch I hear a noise which sounds like a squealing belt.
When I put my foot on the clutch slightly, the noise goes away.
My question is, does this sound like the input shaft bearing, or the throw out bearing. If anyone has a definitive answer I would be most greatful. The reason I ask is I have just had a new exedy clutch installed, with new throwout bearing etc.
Like I say I have searched, but there are many contradicting sources out there. Just wanted a definitive answer.
Cheers folks,

I had the exact same thing.
About 5 weeks after installing my Exedy Stage 1 clutch, my release bearing (new one that came with the clutch) went and needed to be replaced. Sometimes you get duds in life .....
