i just got finished with my b20 swap into a 98 hatch, all ready to turn that key and hear that beast start up but no such luck.......all harnesses are in and everything, everything is hooked up but i cant hear the fuel pump turn on. i checked the fuel pump fuse but still no luck......any ideas???

 

check the ground on your thermostat housing.. that one is usually overlooked.. other than that.. good luck!

 

Yea... & if that one is hooked up... dbl check your tranny & valve cover engine grounds.

there are three grounds make sure that they are all there happened to me the tranny ground, beat my head for a couple of days until i found this place

yea i checked all grounds, we were thinking that it was a bad ecu so we swapped the ecu......our next solution was that the piggy we made for the obd-2 to obd-1 was incorrect however, we plugged in a pre made one and that didn't work. i am running a pr4 obd-1 ecu......wonder what the problem could be??

 

maybe u just have a bad fuel pump or ur battery is dead might just wanna check it just an idea

 

hey guys i appreciate your efforts to help me out, well finally after more frustration and hair pulling i decided to have a shop take a look at it. its running and everything now and the problem was some small wiring problems. its up and running though and all i need is to get the exhaust welded and this bad boy will be on the road

 

Sweet! Can you go into more detail with the wiring problems? I'm swapping soon too (hopefully )

 

Have same problem with my swap could you let me know what the shop told you the problem was

If the OP understood wiring, they wouldn't have taken the car to a shop. Do you really think that they are capable of EXPLAINING what was wrong and what the fix was ??? Also, let's not forget that the OP hasn't posted in this thread in over 19 years, so the chances of you getting a response from them is just about ZERO.
