Default B20 short block swap?

My 99 LS just hit 100K and I wanted to rebuild the motor. However, I was thinking that since the cylinders have probably worn and would need to be bored to the next size larger piston why not swap in a B20. But I know nothing about what would be compatible if I was to just get a B20 short block. Will a LS head fit, LS tranny? I would also like to turbo in the future, what kind of issues would I face with a swap like this? Most of you will tell me to search. At least point me in a good direction please. Thanx.

ls head and tranny is compatable with the b20... a b20 is just a bigger ls...not worth the swap if you ask me...as of turbo...look in the forced induction forum.

you said you wanted to swap in a b20 and boost it later.b20s dont do to good under boost cause of the cylinder walls, there thin since its a bored out version(not the same but similar) of the ls it would be better if you took the money that you would spend on buying the b20 and swapping the motor and just buy some sleeves, rods and pistons for your ls. Then rebuild the ls as a sleeved 2.0 thats ready for some serious action.

ls blocks are also cheaper than b20 blocks. Stick with ls if you want to boost

Sounds good, but what about the b20 complete engines for 530.00 + shipping?

thats usually what they go for. Now.. if you plan on boost, seriously stick with an ls. Or swap the b20 now.. and build an ls block on the side

Waste of time to buy a b20 block to rebuild ls if you don't have one though. Well I guess I won't be going that route.

What are the rev limits on a:
Stock ls block
Sleeved ls block

Or what else would be needed to get the ls block to a 8500-9000 shift range?
