B20 hybrid problem
My hybrid has a b20z installed with a S1 tranny from a b16 with the hasport hydro to cable conversation kit. I'm using the S1 because it was free. Also has Ls throttle body and intake manifold and injectors and LS ECU. So the S1 is really geared low and it runs like 4 grand doing 70mph on 15 inch rims. Anyways, the car pulls really well all the way up to like 5600-5800 rpm and then it seems like it hits a wall. It will even cut out on me if I try to go any higher. I upped the fuel pressure to 40 psi at idle and installed air/fuel meter to make sure I wasn't leanning out the top and when it hits the wall the a/f meter is reading rich. I've read that most b20's will rev all the way up close to 6800rpms but mine will not make there. So does anybody have any guesses what's going on? Thanks in advance.
Well it worked before and would wrap up all the way to 7k when I first got everything . But I started throwing a speed sensor code and the car started surging when you first drove it for like 5 minutes. So I changed out the speed sensor for a 94 delsol Dohc speed sensor and then it still wouldn't run any better. So then I replaced my actual speedometer with a used one from a junk car with like 18,000 miles and the car never threw any more codes and it ran fine. ONly code I throw now is a O2 sensor code but that shouldn't be my problem.

if your car is still throwing a code then the ecu is probably putting your car in limp mode....try clearing all the codes you have and taking it for a spin....
maybe you should check and see if the guy who installed your A/F gauge didn't accidentally unplug any wires to 02. just a thought. p.s. b20zkid, do you know anywhere of hand that sells blue headlights? thanks in advance. Ron

I bet if you dyno it, it would show power & tq dropping off in the highend dramatically.
Since the a/f shows that it is running RICH when it hits the'wall' of no power...
It is not fuel cutoff.
Make sure your 40psi fuel pressure setting is when the vaccum line is disconnected and at idle. If it was, then I think the problem is the ignition at high rpms.
