Default rough running b20?

my cousin has a b20 swap in a 5g hatch. the car pulled great. but it felt like it was starving for fuel. we put a 255 lph bbk fuel pump on it. now problem is , at 45 psi , its boggs, and at 42 psi, it hesitates on the low rpms and in normal highway riding (like at 65), but WOT it runs great.please give me any help. thanks tom

what all does it have internally ? That's weird, it also seems as if its running too rich. do you have af gauge? have you read the plugs?

check..

map sensor
injectors
ignition components (including coil)
camshaft timing (belt?)

a fuel pressure of 42psi seem kinda high for a stock b20z.

my B20 feels like that sometimes

surges at partial throttle

but i guess that is cause the DX ECU has different Fuel/Ignition maps than what the B20 is really supposed to have

at WOT the car is amazing

and I have my fuel pressure set at about the same you do.

I'm currently looking for someone that can Chip my ECU for an all motor B20 program if their is one.

I would suppose your cousin is running a ls computer. Was he having this problem before he installed the new pump. Kind of sounds like some type of air leak. But that's just a guess.

my friend had the same problem with his 92 eg hybrid. we put a 255lph fuel pump in there and it was way too much. the car bogged and stuttered.

basically, yoiu need an aftermarket fuel regulator or you need to put back the stock fuel pump.

this will solve your problems.

Seriously, with a B20\VTEC...you should be using 310cc Injectors and a V-AFC.

You obviously need something to lean it out down low.
