Default B20 and H22 pistons

Has someone done anything like using H22a pistons on a B20b block?. The B20 is 84mm while the H22a is 86mm. What head gasket do I use and will the thinner sleeve wall hold up?. I have about 4 days to decide, what do you all think, pros and cons?. Thanks,

im gonna tell you i dont think it would work...now this is only with the experience of b with b and h with h....so im gonna say most likely the wrist pins are diff and will not attach without aid of some fabrication...NO ACTUAL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SETUP!

I am stripping down my B20 because I am having main and con rod bearing problems, this gives me an opportunity to go for H22 pistons. The B20 was put
together with F20 pistons and the wrist pins were 22mm, I know the H22
wrist pins are also 22mm. I wanted to know if the sleeves will hold if I bore them
to take the 86mm pistons from 84mm and what head gasket do I use or do I have them enlarged to 86mm, will it seal well. Thanks for your inputs.

H22 is 87mm pistons. And yes, we've done it and and we have the short block at our shop. It's been resleeved by GE (one of their first custom ones at this size over a year ago), using Prelude SH pistons.... using those pistons because we got them for free. Machined the GSR rods from 21mm to 19mm to fit the Prelude pistons and using a GSR crank, coming out to approx 2.15 L displacement. Is it usuable? Yes, with the right headgasket. Can you boost on it? I wouldn't. Would I recomend it? Not really worth it when you can have more reliability with a 84 or 85mm setup with high compression, if bore size is really a big deal to you.

The H22 piston diameter as measured are actually 86.4mm, I got them for free. I use them for NA applications on stock sleeves. You mentioned using the right gasket, what gasket will I have to go with?. Also, I was told that the type-S pistons are 85mm, would this be a better alternative to go with?, what's the wrist pin diameter for type-S pistons?. Thanks.
