Default b20 in 96 hatch wireing questions

Anything I need to know? I am using a 96 civic automatic harness with a 98 Ls ecu. Just wondering if I would have to repin anything. I'm new to obd2!!

All you need to do is get a new idle air control valve plug and add it to your dx harness (2 plug end instead of 3 plug end)

eliminate the orange wire... Also repin your a14 to a12 at the ecu plug....

i also have a b20 swap in my 98 dx and i am having wiring issues

i attempted to repin the A14 to A12 and run the LS ecu I have and it makes the car run terrible. I have been using my DX ecu for the last month and it runs great...maybe a little lean but good otherwise.

btw I also used a plug from an LS harness to plug up to the IACV on my LS intake manifold and i paired up the two wires that matched and let the third one hang.

Sounds to me like it is something else...
How does the car run like **** ?
Check for vacume leaks & error codes.

btw... you have to run a14 in a12 and leave a13 alone

Make sure you are running the CORRECT wires on the plug... no orange & make sure you matched the colors properly. Make sure your idle air control valve works using a battery 12 to check it...

DOnt know what else to tell ya.

i mean it runs ok with the dx ecu...actually kind of quick, but when i put the integra ecu in it idles ok and when you put in gear and start driving there is nothing constant about the throttle. you take off then it stops then it peels out taking off again all while i am giving it a constant amount of throttle.

thats why i am still using the dx ecu

If you are throwing no codes & it is doing that... You probably have something done wrong.. I have no idea..

You are just going to have to trouble shoot it.

you can't use an ls wiring harness with a civic.
You have to use a civic wiring harness, dx or ex.

Concering the ecu, you prolly can run the integra ecu no problem...

I recommend you go to autozone/discount & buy axles then go to a local yard & get a dx harness.

Well this was originally my thread, its cool though. Can you use the rear mount bracket that comes with a 99 b20? I figured you could because its an "Ek" bracket and its shorter than the Ls bracket which is what I've been told you want. I've encountered some problems getting the engine in. Maybe its because I've been at it all day I don't know, but I'm using my B20 rear bracket so that's why I'm asking.

Oh yea thanks for that info it helped out alot. I was like what the hell this plug has no where to go and then it all made sense (plus I double checked the helms wiring diagram). Well thanks again.

i used a crv rear mount on my swap into a dx but it doesn't bolt up. i had to drill out one of the holes a little and i only have 2 bolts through it (3 holes in the mount). this is of course a temporary solution and i plan on putting the del sol mount, that is recommended, in when i replace my intake manifold because it will be easier to get to.

damn mike, stop by and lemme look at it...
i thought that would have solved things for u...

Here is my wiring summary using the DX 96-98 harness on the b20...

CKF Sensor DX harness has 3 wires; CKF sensor on B20 uses two; Take plug from B harness and attach to D harness, match the two same colored wires and cap off the other (not used, ground) Black/Brown

Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) DX harness has three wires; B20 plug/sensor uses two. Match the two same colored wires and cap off the other black/brown wire. On the ECU Side move A14 (blue/black) to A12.

Intake Air Temp (IAT) Sensor Civics DX IAT with 99 Si Tube/Leave IAT on LS Manifold Plugged up OR use LS Intake tube with LS IAT on manifold, extend IAT harness to manifold.

EVAP purge solenoid valve Plug is different so just splice from one harness to the other, zip tie or mount to firewall.

MAP Sensor Extend to fit.
TPS Sensor Extend to fit.
Distributor B20 plug, match wires.
Primary O2 Sensor: Extend to fit.
Secondary O2 Sensor Extend to fit
