B18C1 into a 92 VX... runs poor... any help?
We just finished swapping a B18C1 into my friends 92 VX. We switched the two wires for o2 and knock, and everything else bolted right in, and plugged right in. Everything on the car is stock.
When it turns on, it seems like it's missing, or running on 3 cyl, but all are firing.
It would get a check engine light, and it would be for IAT. We checked it, everything looked good there. We tried to turn the car on again, and this time it would run the same, but no check engine light.
Revving it up, it would sound smooth, but around 4500 rpm it would backfire, and then die. Sometimes it would be hard to start, almost like it wasn't getting enough fuel.
Anyone have any ideas what we should check? We're thinking it might be the ECU that we bought might be defective.
Thanks in advance
