B18C into 99 EX (header rubbing oil pan)
My friend has a 99 Civic EX with a JDM B18C in it.
Currently he has.....
-The top portion of his header if from the B18C, the bottom portion is from the D16 that came with the car. The reason being that the bottom portion from the B18C would not mate up to the stock EX cat.
-So the D16 bottom half mated to the B18C top half is causing the D16 bottom half to rub a hold into his B18C oil pan. Leaking oil everywhere.
-From researching.. a b16A or B18A/B oil pan will not fit on his B18C engine because the B18C oil pan is bigger so it has clearance for the bigger oil pan pick-up that the B1BC/5 has.
What are his options????
I was thinking.....
1. New B18C oil pan, take a sledge to it to make clearance, but then ill either **** it up or it wont fit for the same reason that a B16A oil pan wont fit.
2. New B18C oil pan, then buy an ebay SS header and hope that because they dont have all the heatsheild thick add-on stuff the stock header has, it will clear the oil pan.
3. What are some other options, what do people do to make this work???

get a gsr oil pan, along with the downpipe. get an exhaust shop to make it fit.
smashing a pan to make it fit is beyond idiotic.

A motor swapped into a car it didn't come in from the factory usually necessitates some kind of fabrication. A lot of companies have already done the major work for us, thankfully.
Your friend either needs to find a motor swap header, or he needs to get a little bit of custom exhaust work done. Exhaust work is cheap - That's the route I'd go.
