I picked up some ARP head bolts the other day, and upon investigating the package, I realized they gave me a set for a b18c after seeing the part number. I specifically stated I needed them for a b16a while purchasing them. Anyways, I've been approached with the dilemma of whether to use these or not, or go though the trouble of returning/exchanging them depending on the availability of the b16a bolts. I've noticed in the past these were harder to get, and I'm sure a lot of guys ran the gsr's so I would like to know from the people that did run them.

Also, in the future I might run an lsvtec since I have an ls block laying around and since the ARP's are reusable it would be nice to not have to buy the head bolts twice as I know the gsr's will work in that setup. So keep that in mind before anyone tells me to just return them.

Now, to the point, I realize the gsr's are ~1/8" longer. If any of you sifted through the topics I read through my search, you will see that pretty much many people say they will work just fine unmodified, some say to use washers, and others say not to use them and run the b16a specific bolts. So I have basically have come across three different answers to my question, and that is where my confusion lies.

I will be resurfacing my b16a head before I put the motor in my car just to assure that it is flat, although I don't think it would drastically affect the deck height, will the extra 1/8" in length pose a problem?

I want solid answers here, not "It should work, but I have never tried it" type answers. So if you, or anyone you know ran ARP b18c head bolts in a b16a please chime in and let me know if they worked hassle free and if the head was decked or not.

Thanks guys

could you hand tighten the bolt into the b16 and set the head on, and see if theres enough roof for the nut to tighten down?

but hopefully someone who knows FOR SURE can tell you
