b18b header in hatch
Im doin a b18b swap in my 92 hatch dx and im pretty sure the stock manifold wont bolt up to my exhaust. so i was wondering what i should do, doe sit pay to bring to an exhaust shop and fix it or juts eg an aftermarket header... i wanted to know if there is any aftermarket header that will fit with no modification. what header would be best 4-1 or 4-2-1? thanks...

dont know about a aftermarket header but i have an LS swap and the stock LS header does stock match up....an do yourself a favor and plan to get custom piping all the way back or buy a nice exhaust system. the stock civic exhaust system was not made for the LS engine.

Go ahead and see if it match's up:
If yes.......then great!
If no........then get a muffler shop to make you a test pipe to fill the gap.

I have a LS Swap currently. It has an Bseries DC header, with Magnaflow cat back exhaust for a hatchback. The magnaflow supplies a test pipe with that will bolt right up. But honestly, your so much better off buying a magnaflow system and using their test pipe. I sell the magnaflow at my shop, one of our top sellers and I have never had a complaint.

It all depends on where you want the power to be noticed at?
A 4-2-1 header will usually give you power down low around 3-4000 rpms.
A 4-1 header will give you power at the top end around 6-7000 rpms, but then it all depends on the motors power band.
Personally I chose the 4-1 because after first gear, you spend the rest of the gears at high rpms. Although many have good arguments to this, its all a matter of perosnal opinion.

Re: b18b header in hatch (hatchmonkey92)
I've heard alot of people with B series swap that ended up with a pipe to short to reach from header to the catalytic converter. So I was wondering is there any another way around that didn't require muffer shop to extend the pipe. My though is that, would it help if we use the Integra catalytic converter? Any comment on this?

One thing to look at, the GSR header is way shorter than the LS/RS. You may just need the longer header to reach the exhaust. Or just get a 2-1/4 carsound universal cat and weld the flanges any length you need.
