Default B18a spap in CRX. Getting a code 12 ...

I just put a B18a into my 91 CRX, and i'm getting a code 12. The listing for code 12 is:
12 EGR Lift Sensor (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
* not a valid code if car is not equipped with an EGR valve (some Civic models are not)

I used the original CRXsi wiring harness. Is is possible that i have a bad sensor, or is it the wiring? Thanx

possibly a bad sensor, check all your connections just to make sure they are all plugged in correctly. If you have an integra helms you can trouble shoot the prob with a volt meter. If all checks out and still a code try the junkyard for the part. Remember to reset the ecu each time you change anything. hth
