Default B16b changeover

I am hoping to have my b16b swap on the way in a couple of weeks. Just wanting to get all of my ducks in a row before hand. I know it should be a straight forward swap as far as wiring. I will be using the jdm ecu until I get my p28 back from getting s300 installed. I want to delete the lower torque miunts and run hasports. Which stiffness urethane should I go with? It is going to be a autox/ time attack setup. Also I read I need to swap the bracket on the back of the trans over to a 99-00 si one. Anything else I will need? Also planning a CC stage2 clutch or one from MFactory while I'm at it.

You should still run torque mounts even with Hasport mounts, even Hasport will tell you that.

That's true.

Why do so many people remove them then?

They don't like the look of the them or they're too cheap/broke to buy new ones to replace the old ripped ones.

You wont break the Hasport mounts not having them, but you may rip the bolts holding the driver's side mount right out of the engine block (this does happen sometimes) It can ruin the block when it happens, it'll put a nice dent in the hood when the engine flys up and you'll usually ruin the driver's side axle.

Gotcha! I did some reading up on it and it makes sense. The reason I was thinking of doing it is for a custom tri y header, but I guess I'll toss the idea of not running tq mounts out the window. My stock EJ8 ones will work right?

Anything else I'm overlooking?

The driver side single cam torque mount will not work (the portion that is attached to the block)...the passenger side may be the same though. You would need a driver side torque mount from a em1.

you need b series torque mounts. the drivers side depends on if you are keeping a/c or not.

I used all D series stock mounts when I did my B series swap and they all fit no issue. You do need those mount brackets though.

The bolt patterns are all the same where they bolt up to the chassis and I said I used the correct 99-00 Si brackets. The 2 side tq mounts are only 2 bolts to the chassis. I have a 98 Civic with LS Vtec swap using all OEM rubber mounts for the D16, yeah they are weak for the power but I plan on mount inserts soon.

Wasn't what I was talking about but I see what your saying. I was referring to "mounts" when it should have been "brackets" haha
