Default help: i have a question about D series and B series shift linkages...

OK now i know that they arent suppose to be interchangble but could a person who isnt so smart install a d series linkages in their civic with a b series swap? and if so would it be obvious that the wrong linkage is used say like for example it would shift really bad or not go into gears hardly at all?
i ask this because my shifting have been vey rough and notchy lately (just dont feel like its shifts right)and i suspect the person i bought the car off (96 hatch dx)maybe used te original d series linkages when he swapped in the gsr engine because he cut a few other corners in doing the swapp. what would the signs be if the idiot put in the wrong linkages and would the sings be very obvious? thanks

I am not a b series guy but i would like to know why a d series linkage won't work with a b series... reason i am asking is because if something is too short or too long i can weld and cut with no problem so if you can modify a d series linkage that would be great.

can someone clarify this

The transmission end of the stabilizer bar just plain wont bolt up. The end is completely different.

Yep different ends and lengths will not work no way possible. Your issue could be a bad trans, worn clutch, bad shifter bushings or even really bad motor mounts.

If you haven't changed the oil in your tranny in a long time, it could also be the cause. It doesn't break down as fast as motor oil, but it does break down.
