B16 with type r intake mani
Alright I did a search on this and found a useful topic but it didn't quite answer my question completely. I have a 1st gen JDM B16 pretty much still stock except type r cams (I have a header and exhaust thats going to go on in the near future). I've heard its useless to put the type r intake manifold on unless you have some head work done to have noticeble power gains. On the other hand when I bought the car the guy threw in a bare ITR intake manifold so its sitting in my closet. Should I slap it on now? Or wait for some head work? Also does it bolt up directly? I heard you have to get some diffrent sensors or something. Also If I get headwork done it wont be at least till february. thx

Re: B16 with type r intake mani (AccidentproWn)
it'll bolt up, you will feel gains up top...it's the type of MOD. that only helps further any performance (ie. valvesprings, retainers) i have it on my B16 and it feels great up top. my only quesiton to it is that you have a 1st Gen B16 and that weird vaccum sensor isn't there on the Type R manifold....i've never done that manifold swap before on a 1st Gen B16.
