Default B16 problems

My freind installed a 95 B16 into a 95 Civic EX.
The engine has spark and fuel. But the engine will not start. It turns over fine? Everything is pluged in except the knock sensor. But that should not matter, He is using the P30 but I think he is going to switch later.
Does anyone have any idea? We tried a different dist.?
Thank you !

Here is the thing it has good spark!
It has good grounds.
There was one check engine it had to do with v-tec
I really doesnt make any sense?
The car iss ready to drop on the ground it just wont start?
We tried a new dist. and we also tried a P28 nothing is working.
The car turns over Great!
thank you

not having VTEC or the KS hooked up will not affect the car starting at all. Its good that you guys are using the EX harness; that means you don't have to wire up vtec since the car is an EX (vtec) model to begin with.

so you say everythings grounded eh...

Have you made sure the plugs at the ecu and distributor are firmly plugged in?

Are you sure you have the spark plug wire configuration set correctly on the distibutor?

Have you checked the spark plugs for fowling?

Is the engine getting fuel? close the fuel cap? tighten down the fuel filter's pressure release bolt?

try a different distributor yet?

does your friend have some kind of kill switch on or some kind of alarm system that could be interfering ?

The kill switch on the alarm is a good idea. I will have him check it once.
Thank you I will get back to you .
