Default b16 cable tranny w/ b18a

i have a b18a in my 91 dx hatch right now, well i need a new tranny and i was thinking about getting a b16 cable tranny. the car is going to be a built b18a with nitrous. how do you guys think that it'll work out togthere?? it's going to be used as a daily comuter and drag racing. i don't really do much frwy driving at all. thanks in adavance for the help.

I defintaly recommend it for N/A, it makes a biggest difference on a B20 and B18. with 4.4FD and short gearing (might want to consider lightened flywheel as well)

the b18 revs totally like a different animal, it simply gives neck snapping accelaration vs LS tranny which is way to long for any kind of sport drivng.

so find a S1 or J1 or even better YS1 with LSD

The B16 cable tranny will be revving a little high for that motor. Even if you're having it built, I would try to find a USMD 92-93 YS1 GSR tranny. You'll have the shorter gearing with slightly less rpm's cruising in 5th.

thank you for the recomendations guys. i just want something that won't kill me if have to run off of the bottle.

does anyone have an idea as to where i can find a 93 gsr tranny and how much it'll cost me to aquire one??

should be pretty good thomas, i am using the ys1 92-93 gs-r cable tranny with my LS...
