Default B series trans question

I am having a problem with my trans and want some other opinions before I tear into it. I can shift fine 1st-5th but when I put it in reverse it doesn't want to come out of reverse. I have to litteraly beat it out. I was thinking it could be a bent shift linkage, bad pressure plate, or a bad syncro. What would be the most likly cause and fix?? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

is it hard to pull out of reverse while moving in reverse?

meaning, sometimes you can just pull it out of gear w/o depressing the clutch.

Do you know what fork it would be? Fork Sub, 3-4, or 1-2?? Also, would this be something I could do myself or should I have it done? FYI I have neverdone anything more that changed the fluid and done a clutch kit. THANKS!

reverse has it's own shift fork
just take it to a transmission shop to have them repair it if you have never done it
before

Is the shift fork the only possible cause of it getting stuck in reverse? I just want to make sure before I get quotes to get it fixed. Thanks.

that or bent shift linkage but i doubt that.
most likely you have a bad shift fork or reverse gear

reverse gears don't really wear out. My vote = bent shift fork
