anyone know anything about rod/stroke ratios?
I have a b18a1 engine and I want to put on a b16a1 head. The r/s ratio of the b16a1 is 74.5:1, i think, and the b18a1 is a much lesser number that I can't recall. How do I go about getting a r/s ratio closer to that of the b16 after I have done the head swap? Any suggestions would be nice, also I'm new here and my postings are limited, so I appologize for any noobish postings or comments.

The r/s ratio of a b16 is 1.74:1 and the b18a is 1.54:1. READ THIS:

thanks
Thanks for the info, I knew it wouldn't be easy...you almost need an engineering degree to understand some of that. anyhow I guess I'll go with a lower dome piston shape and a r/s between 1.6 and 1.7. this should prove interesting i guess. I'm not looking to rev my motor out of the atmosphere, just to 8-9krpms.
