I have a 92 cx w/a 99spec jdm itr swap. I blew out the clutch i had just bought and instead of fixing it, i'm purchasing a usdm gsr tranny w/quaife lsd which is a hydro tranny. will this bolt right up or do i need a hydro --> cable conversion?
i'm pretty sure that i'm already hydro but i need to double check.
thanks in advance,
Ben

wow, This is probly the dumbest question on HT right now, lately theres been allot but this one wins
Oh, and you got a hydro trans
but my question is, if you blew the clutch and instead of buying a new clutch you got another tranny, don't you still need a new clutch?????

thanks for being an *******.
i don't have a second car and instead of dropping my trans and possibly having something that can't be fixed right away, i'm buying a new trans because the gsr's gearing is going to be better for me once i go turbo. also, i'm going to bolt up the gsr trans and then take the time to figure out what's going on with the itr then fix it and sell it and get some money back with my car being down for the least amount of time. but thanks for the help, dick

OOOO, whats with the strong language? not that I care... But anyways why would the gSr gears be better for boost? and please don't say so you can be in boost longer
well i know your question is already answered.

they type r tranny? yeah, it will be soon. it looks like it is going to be the clutch which i just had put in and it's still under warranty from ACT. it's a 99 jdm type r tranny w/~40 k w/an ACT stage 1 organic 6 puck street disc, ACT street lite flywheel and ACT X-treme pressure plate. shipping to texas would probably be a bitch tho

the ratios are ideal... rpms stay up in between shifts, you basically want to finish the 1320 on the top of fourth gear. As you make more and more power your car will obviously become faster and faster and to maintain fourth through the 1320 just swap out the FDs and or change tire size... but i suppose you could do the same with a gsr trans as well (swap out the FDs and or change tire size), I personally like close gears
