99 ek h22 swap "sputtering"
i dont know whats wrong with my car the swap was doing great until a couple of weeks ago. i had the swap for over 8 months without a problem. but latley i have been having alot of sputtering. and having really low idling. it got so bad where i the idling got to like 200 rpm and just strugling to keep it self alive?? its usally after pounding the car alot. and theres a smell like un-burned gas? im using a stock p13. plus the engine check light is on. maybe o2 sensor problems? maybe runing to rich? i dont know what to do? i already have changed spark plugs, try to clean out the injectors. thats about it. any input would really help alot.
and i was wondering if anyone know where they made those special springs for the ek civic h22 swap. for the suspensions? i saw it on the fourms but i cant seem to find it. thanks!

I have the same problem as you in my 92 si with a h22a1 motor?I have found out through friends with h22 eks and egs that the motor runs rich from the factory so when its swapped into your hatch theres always something wrong. Also 80percent of h22 swapped cars don't run well, something about the 2.2's thats different from the b-series.Check your fuel pressure regulator that should be set at about 35, check your butterfly hose at the end of your intake-manifold. the p13 ecu reads egr-valve sensor Air Intake Control Sensor..you should use a p28 chipped if you aren't trying to BAR your car. For $400-bucks blacktrax performance can check your car out and make it run like its suppose to, they specialize in h22s.right now just check your hoses and your CEL codes.right now i have egr, vtec, map sensor, tps, AIC, but i've been able to elimate some through trying different ECus.

how do i even diagnosing my Check Engine light issues? i really need help. yeah my motor does run really really rich. cause i can smell it. maybe my motor fluided. thats whats all the sputtering came from? im not to sure? but i need help with my daily running h22 ek civic. i need it to run m0re effiecently. how do even check my engine check light. all i know it just goes on when ever i drive it for a few mins. and after that i runs like CRAP. hahah literly. well any input would help alot. thanks man

Try taking it to a muffler shop. They can check your 02 sensors. If you can smell the gas, and it feels like your car is choking then it coul be your converter is plugged by now and also failing. But you should feel the difference in your power if it is clogged, unless it is all broke up by now and blowing out the back of your exhaust pipes.
Get your codes checked and take it from there...

Hey..i'm running a test pipe on my car and it still bogs and a lot of hesitation..right now i have o2 sensor, tps, Aic,vtec,egr-valve.but that was on a p13 ecu..i think its the electrical...anyone have any suggestions..i heard that if you want to run good use a p28 and chip a program...Blacktrax performance has a good program custom made, they specialize in prelude swaps and guarentee a low 13 sec et they said about 400 bucks to rewire and do hoses and all that stuff..
