Default 98 EX swap into a 2G CRX

Does a 98 EX motor directly swap in a 89 HF CRX? Do I have to change axles, tranny, change to OBD1 or OBD0? Thanks

Mounts: use your stock HF motor mounts
Tranny: could use your hf, but the gears are LOOOONG. Find an Si tranny.
Axles: you can use your stock ones (even though they are smaller than si)
Wiring: convert to OBD1 and use the EX dist, injectors, o2.
ECU: p28 or p06

So i can use my hf tranny, but I have the 98 motor, trans, ecu, and header available. Can I still use the hf axles with the ex tranny? What about the midshaft? Will the hf axles hold up to the torque? All possible combos would be great. I'm only trying to use the hf and ex parts I have on hand. Thanks.

you can't use the ex tranny because it is hydraulic and your car needs a cable type tranny.

the hf axles will be fine. I know guys with ZC and hf axles and they have never had problems. If you boost or something you will have to get bigger axles.

how will a 98 motor converted to obd1 effect emissions? and basically i can use an si or dx tranny and still use hf axles, right?

i'm doing a 95ex d16z swap in my 90 crx hf.

1. got a 91crx si CABLE tranny
2. got 91crx si hubs
3. already had the p28ecu (obd-1)
4. ex axles will work just right with the si hubs
5. need to get the Hasport conversion harness obd-0--obd-1, some people on here sell there own, i just preferred to waste my $$
