Default 92 CX with B16a o2 question

This question is alittle different than the one listed below... Running a chipped ECU with the factory 92 harness, same problem though, single wire o2 sensor. To fix this, can we just wire in a 4-wire sensor, or what has to be done???

what ecu? and obd1 or 2?\

don't need to worry bout it if it's obd1, u just need single wire and plug into ECU, if it's obd2, ur gonna need to wire it with the 4 pin as ya said. good luck

it's the factory obd1 wiring harness that came with the 92 cx. The ecu is a chipped P28 ecu, didn't know if it would be best with the 4-wire or just leaving the 1-wire in. I found the pinout for the ecu, that shows where the o2 sensor pins would go to convert to a 4-wire. I was just wondering if the car would perform better giving the feels, skunk2 chips that we have to try in the car with the 4-wire, or if there would be no difference in the 2 sensors performance.

Again, thanks to everyone that has helped with info on this swap!

If you are not running the 4 wire o2 then you should be throwing codes. Unlike what poisen said just cause you are obd1 doesn't mean you are fine you need the 4 wire i think it would performe better. what you will do is pin out those 2 wires to the ecu the tap into the sensor ground and sensor power off of the TPS sensor and you should be fine that is the easiest sensor to tap into in my opinion cause it has voltage and ground. Good luck

I thought i needed to do that, thank you very much for responding. Fired the car up tonight for the first time. Started on the 2nd crank, really impressive how crisp the car sounded, installed a new GS-R distributor, did valve adjustment prior etc.. hopefully it'll come along well with some decent power.
