don't waste your time just trying to swap the head. i am not sure, but i don't think the head will fit anyway. just look at the engine mounts on both engines and look into swapping the whole thing. that way you can have the horsepower to go with the head too.
a couple questions - what models do you have? is the 90 an si, hf, dx? and is your 84 carb'd or fuel injected? is it an si or hf/dx? that will also play a part in how much you will have to change to do a swap.

DX to DX, no. 84 DX CARBURATED 90DX FUEL INJECTED
90 model eng. will not bolt to 84 trans.
To many fuel delivery , wiring and emission issues for the unexperienced
18 yr. old. Not trying to be harsh, but this would not be a fun project.

not to dispute, but on the contrary, it isn't that hard to swap over to the fuel injection. just make sure the sending units in the gas tank are from a fuel injected model, get a different fuel pump (fuel injected pump, not carbureted), and get some copper line for your fuel. you will need to have larger fuel lines for delivery from the pump and return. change the fuel filters over to the fuel injected ones, and make sure you get the engine harness out of the dx. you will need the computer that connects to the wiring harness. you may have a little bit of trouble with the swapping of the rest of the underdash harness, but if you swap out the rest of the stuff, then go to a garage and have them wire it in. it shouldn't be that hard for a mechanic to do. the rest of the stuff you should be able to do pretty easily by yourself (to save yourself some money).
when you get the dx motor in there, let me know, i can give you some tips on how to get a little more breathability on that engine - i used to have a 90 crx dx.
OT: obd1canobie - just because he is 18 doesn't mean he can't do the work. i know a lot of high school kids who can tear down and rebuild a car with their eyes closed. age does not mean incompetence.

I converted my '84 CRX to FI and it was involved but by no means hard. Just salvage the fuel line, fuel pump and its bracket, the fuel pickup assembly inside the gas tank, and the main wiring harness from an Si model. I swapped the engine and tranny of an '87 Integra and it was an experience.
I've got almost 12k miles on my car since I finished the swap last summer, and it is a blast to drive!!!
