Background is my buddy bought an s2000 with a blown motor (1 and 2 cyl's fried) and he bought a longblock and along with it an ecu from another car. The s2k that he bought had a vortech on it and he is trying to basically get everything back to stock to just drive it and my question is what does he need to do to be able to use this ecu from a different car in his if anything. His car is an '04 and the ecu is an '05. If you need anymore details id be glad to give them.
Thanks
Thanks

I haven't had any experience with switching ECU's. But I've heard that you need to have the keys reprogrammed because of the immobilizer.
But then again, if you are just replacing the motor, you should still be able to use the factory 04 ECU on the 05 motor.

There is a brake code for our cars with a series of brake pedal presses and you can start it. But if its a difference ECU from the car i dont think it will work.
