Default s2000 ecu question?

Ok a little while back my s2000 was broken into and my ecu was stolen
Ive been running what i believe is a JDU ecu a friend of a friend had laying around
Works fine but it throws a check engine light
So I ordered one from honda becuase the check engine frankly freaks me out a little even though the cars seems perfect
Well installed the Ecu and it doesn't seem to work! Immobilizer is flashing and it just doesn't start?
Is this the wrong ecu?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks guys!
This is a 04 s2 btw

Personally it sounds like eather the ecu you recieved was damaged or the wrong one, I would call a local honda dealer so you can double check the part numbers.

Using a brand new ECU requires reprogramming of the 04+ blade keys. $75 IIRC.

yes, as others already said, you have to the ecu programmed with the vin and paired to the immobilizer chip in the key. only honda can do it with a special programming tool. I had this done as well and I called around to other mechanic shops to see if they could reprogram for cheaper but they all said they don't have that tool.
