TestPipe Question
Looking for opinion on aftermarket testpipe in a stock car, what brand is good, pros and cons on them. is this worth it? stock exhasut with aftermarket test pipe, anybody have this on their car?
Pro: Free's up nice hidden horse power, more free flowing.
Cons: It smell that it emits is intoxicating, illegal.
Just about any other test pipe out there is the same. The only thing you'll be paying for is name.
you have your "cheaper" ones such as Invida, Megan, helix, etc.
and you have your "better than normal" ones such as T1R, Berk, etc.
and then you have your "better than better" ones such as J's, Amuse, etc.

Aftermarket header and test pipe with a stock exhaust did wonders for me.

I work a "Becks" test pipe with fujitsubo exhaust.
the smell at first gets your worried, but its common for S2ks with test pipes.
as far as HP gain, i dont think its much.
Next on my list, Header + Intake system

as far as test pipe goes, most of the is 90% the same, so get teh cheapest one</TD></TR></TABLE>
Cheap isnt always the way to go.
Im not saying buy the 400$ amuse test pipe, but theirs a big difference between the Berk Technologies test pipe and a 50$ ebay test pipe. Just buy what works and what people are using with no problems and like.

I have the j's, I like it. It wasn't too expensive and does the job. All I had to do was make a mechanical o2 simulator so I didn't throw a CEL. Two years with it and still no CEL, no bad smell, no noises and it sounds and performs great.

I seriously think my car burns more oil then what it should be.
like i understand the S2000's are known fow burning a little oil here and there.
but my car has 36K and when i really get on it (from the hole) i can see a little smoke. now its not ALOT...
i seriously need to look into that a little more

just got mine...have yet to install it. its a berk's test pipe with flanges custom welded on to it, to connect the stock cat heat shields.

should flow good with my soon-to-buy j's 60rs exhuast.

I have the T1R 70 Version 2 test pipe that slips right into the exhaust w/ no flanges. (well actually one flange that connects to the header)
the traditional test pipes are cake when installing. Just drop the cat, use the existing flanges, take the test pipe, and bolt it up. Done.

Yes the test pipe will throw a cell on your car.
The only way to work around this is quite easy. Go to your local automotive parts store such as Napa/Kragen/Pep Boys etc.
and pick up some Anti-Spark foulers. They usually run like 6 bux and some change. (you will get a pair)
Steps:
1) Remove 02 sensor if you haven't already done so
2) take one anti-fouler and screw it in the 02 bung
3) locate a power drill
4) Find a 1/2 Drill bit
5) take the other anti-fouler and drill the 1/2 bit straight through the existing hole
6) Screw on the "modded" anti-fouler to your other anti fouler
7) Connect 02 Sensor to the "modded" anti-fouler and voila. No Cell.
Reason to drill the anti fouler a 1/2 inch is beacuse the 02 sensor's tip will not fit into it.

Have a good day.

I have the Berks testpipe and noticed the same thing a while back. Not a lot, but just a very small puff on take-off. I have 52k miles.
